What is a Shadow Day? A shadow day is an opportunity for a junior high school student to be a "Friar for a Day". Eighth grade students are welcome to visit Fenwick during the fall semester (from September 22nd -December 15th) and seventh grade students are welcome during the spring semester (February 15th - May 18th).
During a shadow day a student might be able to participate in a number of activities. These activities include:
Who can I Shadow? You will be paired with a Fenwick Student Ambassador and will attend classes and activities as if you were a Fenwick student. If you are directly related (sibling) to a student and you would like to shadow them please inform the Admissions Office of that person when you call for an appointment. This does not guarantee that you will be able to shadow that particular student. Otherwise, you will be paired with one of the student ambassadors who has similar interests as you. What time should I arrive at Fenwick, and where should I go? Shadows report to the Shadow room by 8:30 a.m. Fenwick ambassadors will pick up their shadows by 8:50 a.m. School is dismissed at 2:20 p.m.(regular schedule) or 2:30 p.m. (assembly schedule). Shadows can be picked up in in the shadow room at the end of the day. Shadows must enter the building though our Parking Lot Entrance.
What do I do for lunch? Shadows will be given a voucher of $7 to use in the cafeteria to purchase a lunch.
When can I Shadow? A student can shadow any day of the week Fenwick has classes, except Mondays. *Please note we do not allow shadows imemdiately prior to and during Final Exams. Eighth graders are welcome to shadow during the fall semester. Seventh graders during the spring semester. Check with your elementary school to see if they have a specific day scheduled for students to shadow high schools. Please call one week in advance to schedule a shadow day. This is important as spaces are limited. |
